We will be packing the van from 7pm on the 22nd, i would anticipate this taking an hour or so if you can bring your kit bag down with you that would help.
We will be aiming to leave from TSN at 830am on the 23rd - arriving at tsn at 8am ready to roll lunch in bag
We are aiming to be back in warwick for around 3pm on the 30th and will need help to unload the van, unpack and put stuff away. if we bring wet canvas back we will also need help hanging this up.
There will not be a paper health form for camp we will ask you all to login to OSM and update the details including an emergency contact there.
Explorer camps are more relaxed than Scout camp, there are no patrol tents, colours, inspections (assuming you are not living in a tip) and we cook and eat together in a marquee, with one group of explorers responsible for cooking with a leader for the whole group each day. We tend to do a mix of our own activities and brought in activities like sailing and paddle sports. In the past that has included; White water rafting, Go Karting, Mountain biking, Archery, Surfing lessons, mountaineering and others.
We tend to visit shops on the way back from places and travel by minibus.
Explorer Policies for getting on with each other (Sex drugs and rock n roll) and Mobile phones
Please let us know about any allergies/intolerances/strong dislikes (eg won't eat x if Y is in it...)
There wont be a "Medical form" this year but please ensure you update OSM with your contact details so we can contact you and have the latest relevant medical info.
If any Helmets are dropped, vomited in or are damaged in any way there is a £45.00 surcharge per helmet which has to be paid before leaving the site.
Reminder: We run no matter what the weather, so please bring a spare set of clothes & sensible footwear.
All footwear MUST be fully enclosed around the foot, for example trainers, shoes or boots, TRAINERS are the best shoe to wear.
NO unsuitable footwear such as: SANDALS, CROCS, FLIP FLOPS, SLIDERS, HIGH HEELS, WELLIES or Slip on shoes such as LOAFERS/CANVAS/BEACH SHOES etc.
Any damage caused to the Karts through not using the brakes when needed or negligent/dangerous driving, the monetary amount of the damage will be taken off your event/karting time appropriately, and the driver that caused the damage will not be allowed to continue karting for the rest of your karting/event.
Minimum age to Kart is 8 years old (minimum height 134cm applies, though leg and arm length are a consideration for safety)
There is an upper weight restriction of 19 stone, but this also depends on body shape to ensure you can safely operate the kart pedals and steering wheel (steering wheel must not touch your body for safe operation). The largest helmets we carry are XXXL (65-66cm head circumference) if you cannot fit this size helmet safely you would not be able to kart unless you brought your own helmet (full face or motocross style with goggles.)
During the week we will be doing, walking, sailing, surfing, canoeing and karting. you will need:
Uniform: we do not require uniform for Explorer camp. A Necker is required however
We don't restrict clothing choices or spray deodorants etc like the scouts however we ask you to be responsible, if you want to wear a vest top put suncream on... want to use spray deodorant or suncream, don't spray it on the tent canvas (which is why they are banned for scouts).... in otherwards think!

The phone signal at this site is bad but we will be busy so please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
If you urgently need to get hold of someone on camp, this is the best way to contact us, if it is an emergency and you can’t get hold of a leader please get in touch with our Home Contact - Barbie Tomlin . Please be aware that she is not on camp, as the title suggests, and she is also working during the week. But in the case of emergencies she is there for you to call.

Similarly if we need to contact parents due to a change in our plans or any incident, then we will be holding name, address and contact number information for each of the participants on camp, so please ensure we have the correct contact details for where you are during the weeks at camp. A reminder will be sent out for you to update your details via My Scout before summer camp.
If there is any reason you need to collect your Explorer from camp; the address is
